The Ideal Solution

Friday, Jan 6, 2017

Facilitator: Rance Greene (Rance Design)

Consultants and designers of training and communications have the privilege of helping others learn and change their behaviors, which begs the question: Why are we asking people to change their behaviors? To achieve an outcome, yes; but what is that outcome? New knowledge, new skills, better motivation. That’s all part of it, but frequently, training is built without a full knowledge of what the measurable business outcome should be; therefore, the ideal solution is never realized. Why is this? Perhaps it's because we expect the stakeholder to be able to identify the business outcome without our assistance. Or it could be that we, or the stakeholder, get caught up in identifying a solution right away instead of asking some key questions that will unearth the root problem, and, therefore, the ideal solution.

The key to better analysis is not complex. Find out when you attend The Ideal Solution.

Prepare for a highly interactive session, after which, you will be able to:

  • Ask the right questions of clients/stakeholders to unearth root problems
  • Use your KSA filter to categorize problems
  • Construct measurable business outcomes
  • Align the ideal solution with the desired outcome

About our facilitator:

Rance Greene is a designer of training and communications for HealthCare Service Corporation. Recently, he formed Rance Design, which provides design education and customized training stories. His signature story-telling techniques have won awards from The eLearning Guild, ATD Dallas, Health Ethics Trust and even a Telly Award. If you are an enthusiast of stories in training and communications, this session is also for you: the best stories are birthed from the best analysis.

Why do you want to attend the January Lunch & Learn SIG meeting?

Because…  You will learn principles that work from the best-selling book, Five Dysfunctions of a Team.

Because… A cohesive team will:

  • ·         Make better, faster decisions as people are aligned and on-board
  • ·         Leverage the skills, talents and opinions of all team members
  • ·         Ensure conflict becomes productive and healthy versus draining and damaging
  • ·         Focus on the results versus self-interest and politics
  • ·         Create a competitive advantage and sets your organization apart
  • ·         Eventually become “A Best Place to Work”

Join us for this interactive, engaging SIG where we will explore the behaviors that create a high performing team, give you practices to bring to your own organization and insight as to why this concept has been embraced and widely accepted around the world.
