Dallas ATD Learning & Development EDU Special Interest Group

Hosted by: Amanda Preston, Lisa Bevington, Tonya Knox and Julie Mitchell

Monday, February 5, 2017 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Presenter: Benjamin Caulder

In this session, we will focus on simple learning theory and why it is absolutely relevant in today’s Learning & Development. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is beneficial when considering the needs of an organization. Applying Maslow to the organization as one would to an individual keeps the growth needs of the organization as paramount as the growth needs of the learner. We will discuss how addressing these needs will stimulate and motivate the learners in your training.

At the end of the session, the participants should be able to:

  • Apply Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to maximize the learning in their training opportunities.
  • Apply learner centric objectives that spark motivation in the learners.
