In the world of safety training, the "path of least resistance" usually leads to passive videos or static slide decks that fail to drive real behavioral change. To truly move the needle on safety outcomes, L&D professionals must work backward from identified skill gaps to create high-impact, immersive experiences. But how do you scale these solutions without getting bogged down in months of custom development?

Debbie Richards and Philipp Seiler will pull back the curtain on how to build a fully functional, immersive safety lesson in under an hour. Using no-code tools, they will demonstrate how to transform complex, real-world procedures and hazard scenarios into interactive simulations that are deployable to both desktop and VR headsets.

Ready to take the next step in your career and meet others on the same journey? The Job Seekers' Power Hour is your chance to mix, mingle, and share leads in a fun and supportive environment! Whether you're in job transition or looking for that perfect role, this is the place to make meaningful connections and learn best practices from others in the same boat.

Arrive at 10:30 a.m. for coffee, casual networking, and a chance to chat with fellow ATD Dallas members and guests before we officially kick things off! This will be held outside our meeting room(look for a ATD sign).

Here's how we'll roll:

First 20 minutes: Brief Elevator speech intros! In 60 seconds or less, introduce yourself, your career background, companies you've worked for, what you're hunting for, and if you’re open to relocating..
Last 40 minutes: We will spend the rest of the time focused on discussing what are challenges and tips to the job search journey in an AI world.

Most development tools are designed with primarily linear content in mind. It's often possible to create nonlinear or branching content, but that isn't the primary purpose of the tool. That means building branching scenarios can be clunky, cumbersome, and time consuming. What if you had a tool that was designed just for creating branching scenarios?

In this presentation, you'll learn how to build branching scenarios with Twine. Twine is a free, open-source tool designed specifically for creating interactive stories and games. You can use Twine for planning and writing a scenario, creating functional rapid prototypes, or for more polished final products. We’ll start with a live demo of building a simple branching scenario from scratch so you can see how quickly you can publish a functional learning experience. Next, you’ll see how story formats can add functionality and change the appearance of a story. You’ll see ways Twine can be used for different types of scenarios, such as games and chat simulations, and how to enhance and customize scenarios in Twine.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

By the end of this session, you should be able to:

Describe why Twine is an effective tool for creating branching scenarios quickly.
Create and publish a story in Twine.
Identify ways Twine can be used for different types of interactive stories and scenarios.
Compare use cases for different Twine story formats.
